Executive Leadership
Nancy Lurker, Chief Executive Officer
Nancy, a veteran in the biopharmaceutical industry, joined PDI in November 2008, as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Company’s Board of Directors. Ms. Lurker has more than 25 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, marketing, and commercial operations. Prior to joining PDI, Ms. Lurker was Senior Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer for Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation (the U.S. subsidiary of Novartis AG), where she oversaw a product portfolio in multiple therapeutic areas representing multi-billion dollars in annual sales. Ms. Lurker was also President and CEO of ImpactRx, Group Vice President-Global Primary Care Products for Pharmacia Corporation, and a member of Pharmacia’s U.S. Executive Management Committee. She began her career at Bristol Myers Squibb where she quickly rose from Senior Sales Representative to Senior Director of Worldwide Cardiovascular Franchise Management during her 14 year tenure. Ms Lurker graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry from Seattle Pacific University, and holds an MBA from the University of Evansville (Evansville, Indiana).
Jeffrey Smith, Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer
Jeff joined PDI as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer in May 2006. He has over 30 years of broad based finance, accounting and general management experience and over 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Formerly a Senior Vice President, Finance, Chief Financial Officer of PLIVA, Inc., a growth oriented generic pharmaceutical Company. From 1985 to 2002, served in various executive positions including Executive Vice President, Finance, Chief Financial Officer and acting President and member of the Office of the Chief Executive -- with ALPHARMA, Inc., an acquisition and growth oriented, NYSE listed, global specialty pharmaceutical company. He is a Certified Public Accountant who began his career with Coopers & Lybrand, now PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Kathy Marsico, Senior Vice President of Human Resources
Kathy joined PDI in January, 2005. Prior to coming to PDI, she had a 23-year career with AT&T, during which she held senior leadership positions managing a $1 billion income statement, led a sales branch serving 305,000 customers, and specifically in the area of human resources, has had responsibility for human resources functions, including talent acquisition, performance management, professional and organizational development, compensation, benefits, employee recognition, employee relations and retention. Kathy has deep knowledge and experience in labor law and co-employment. She holds an MBA from New York University, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
Richard P. Micali, Senior Vice President, Sales Services
Richard joined PDI in February 2009. As Senior Vice President of Sales Services, he is responsible for oversight of the company's sales forces, sales operations, sales training, and talent acquisition service offering. Mr. Micali is a 25-year veteran of Bristol-Myers Squibb where he held positions of increasing responsibility in Sales, Marketing and Managed Markets. He began his career as a sales representative and most recently was Vice President, Oncology Sales. Mr. Micali has broad sales leadership experience across several therapeutic areas and customer channels. He has extensive experience building and leading sales organizations while developing and retaining people. Throughout his career, he has successfully launched new products and indications, including a biologic for the treatment of certain types of cancers. Mr. Micali's diversified commercial experiences in the biopharma industry have given him a strong understanding of the evolving healthcare marketplace. Mr. Micali is a member of the Board of Trustees for Mercer Street Friends, a non-profit organization. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bowling Green State University and a MBA from John Carroll University.
David Kerr, Senior Vice President, Business DevelopmentDavid joined PDI in April 2009 and has nearly 30 years deep experience in pharmaceutical commercialization, sales and marketing. Prior to joining PDI, he was Senior Vice President of Commercial Business at Endo Pharmaceuticals where he was accountable for all facets of the company’s commercial activities. He is also served as Vice President of Business Development at Endo, responsible for leading product licensing and acquisition activities. He spent six years at Knoll Pharmaceutical Company, Inc., the pharmaceutical division of BASF, holding several management positions including Director of Sales Operations and Planning and Senior Director of Knoll’s Pain Management Business Unit, responsible for the Vicodin® and Dilaudid® family of brands. He began his career with E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Company, where he spent 15 years in positions of increasing responsibility, from Account Representative through Field Sales Management, to Market Manager of Integrated Health Networks Diagnostics Division. Mr. Kerr holds a B.S. from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from the University of Delaware.
Jo Ann Saitta, Senior Vice President, Information Technology
Jo Ann joined PDI in 2005 with 20 years experience in Information Technology strategic management and planning. Served as Director, Relationship Management at Prudential Financial, Corporate Technology Services division; previously held various management and technical positions at IBM Global Services, in the areas of e-Business, client-server computing and VM mainframe. She holds two Bachelor degrees from Rutgers University; a Masters in Computer Science from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT); and is completing a Ph.D. in Information Systems at NJIT.
Howard Drazner, President, Pharmakon
Howard began his career in the pharmaceutical industry 26 years ago with Stuart Pharmaceuticals a division of ICI Americas, now known as Astra Zeneca. Over this time he has worked in a number of sales, marketing, and management positions including advertising space sales for the American College of Surgeons and direct marketing sales, management/marketing for Buckley Dement, an American Medical Association franchisee. He has expertise in database design, development, programming, PDMA-compliance based marketing and interactive communications. Currently, Howard is President of Pharmakon, previously known as C. Beck and Associates. Prior to his current position he spent ten years as Senior Vice President and partner where he was responsible for the sales and marketing of interactive peer programs. He holds a BS in Life Sciences from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
