SADDLE RIVER, N.J. (June 23, 2005) PDI, Inc. (Nasdaq: PDII), a diversified sales and marketing services company serving the biopharmaceutical and medical devices and diagnostics industries, is pleased to announce that Christopher Tama has been appointed to the role of Executive Vice President and General Manager, Diversified Teams. In this role, Mr. Tama will be responsible for the strategic plan and overall management of PDI's Select Access™ and medical devices and diagnostics (MD&D) business units.

Mr. Tama is a 25-year veteran in the pharmaceutical industry, holding executive management leadership roles at several major pharmaceutical companies. While serving as Vice President of the CNS Therapeutic Area franchise at Novartis, he led his unit to become the third largest CNS portfolio in the world and launched several new therapies. As Vice President of Marketing, US Operations for Searle, he was responsible for the US product portfolio including Calan SR, Daypro, Ambien, Arthrotec and Cytotec. Mr. Tama started his pharmaceutical career at Pharmacia, holding sales and marketing positions of increasing responsibility, including a 3 year assignment at the company’s headquarters in Uppsala, Sweden as a member of an international product marketing launch team. Prior to his new role at PDI, Mr. Tama held leadership positions as Executive Vice President and General Manager of PDI Pharmaceutical Products Group and as Executive Vice President of Strategic Acquisitions.
